Minority Stake Partnership Supports Launch of New Firm, Marking Elevation Point’s Third Deal in 2025

MINNEAPOLISApril 22, 2025 — Elevation Point, a growth accelerator and minority stake partner for independent advisors and breakaway firms, announced today that it has made a strategic investment in Fortage Capital Advisors, a newly established wealth management firm based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. The firm will specialize in providing investment management and financial advice tailored to each client’s individual needs.

“As wirehouse veterans, Andrew and I understand how the journey from the wirehouse model to independence offers greater flexibility and client focus—which is at the core of our mission at Elevation Point,” said Jim Dickson, founding partner and CEO of Elevation Point. “Embodying the same mindset, the team at Fortage is committed to meeting the evolving needs of their clients, while staying focused on growth and aiming to deliver the best possible outcomes. We look forward to achieving many growth milestones together.”

Before launching Fortage, Founder and Managing Partner Andrew Moss, CIMA®, CRPC®, was a partner at Transcend Capital Advisors for the last five years, following more than 25 years at Merrill Lynch, where he began his career in 1994. He left Merrill for Transcend in 2020 with Matthew Harbarcuk and Carrie Angott. Mr. Harbarcuk and Ms. Angott are joining Fortage as Director and Client Service Associate, respectively.

“This is a significant step in our evolution, giving us more time to focus on delivering customized solutions for our clients,” said Andrew Moss, CIMA, CRPC, founder and managing partner of Fortage Capital Advisors. “We were drawn to Elevation Point’s partnership model for its innovative tools, talent, and infrastructure, which will help us optimize our service offering and amplify business growth. This partnership reflects our commitment to providing outstanding service and advice to our clients.”

This deal is the latest milestone in Elevation Point’s ongoing minority stake partnership model, which allows firms to maintain their independence while gaining access to critical resources for growth.
