A new model designed for elite advisors who want to scale their firms, grow enterprise value, and stay firmly in control of what they have built.

Elevation Point was founded by experienced wealth management leaders and investors who have sat on every side of the table—building firms, buying firms, selling firms, and advising them. We created Elevation Point to help elite advisors grow faster while keeping control of what they have built.
Too many advisors face the same choice: build independently and leave behind institutional-grade resources, only to outgrow their infrastructure—or take capital and give up control. We built Elevation Point to eliminate that tradeoff, delivering institutional firepower without institutional constraints.
We are a growth partner. We invest alongside elite advisory firms, take meaningful minority stakes, and align our success with yours.
“We built Elevation Point after seeing too many great advisors make deals that solved for today but limited what was possible tomorrow. Advisors deserve partners who help them build something bigger without stepping aside.”
– Jim Dickson
Founder and CEO of Elevation Point

Founded by a group of experienced wealth management leaders and investors with a clear focus: partnering with elite advisory firms as a minority investor and growth partner—bringing institutional capabilities without taking control.
The principles that guide how we partner with advisors.
We succeed when we’re fully aligned with our partners and each other. Every decision is made with shared goals in mind, creating trust and momentum.
Good enough doesn’t cut it. We set high standards for ourselves and our partners, pushing for outcomes that are sharper, faster, and better than expected.
We speak openly, share information directly, and keep communication straightforward. Advisors know exactly where they stand with us, always.
We back advisors without taking over. Our role is to partner with them so they can stay in control of their firms while gaining the scale, tools, and resources to spend more time on what matters most: serving clients and driving growth.
We are relentlessly future-focused. We are nimble, evolving, and never satisfied with the status quo. Growth is our default.
We believe culture is everything. We choose to work only with people who embody excellence, collaboration, and integrity. From our partners to our teammates, everyone in our circle raises the bar, supports one another, and strengthens the entire collective.
Elevation Point was created by industry leaders who have built, scaled, and reshaped some of the most successful firms in wealth management. From launching billion-dollar enterprises to leading fintech innovation, our executive leadership bring the experience and vision to back advisors who refuse to settle.

Renowned for his advocacy of independent financial advisors, Jim is a visionary leader who specializes in designing and implementing high-growth strategies to give advisory teams the freedom to deliver truly differentiated client experiences.
Alongside several seasoned industry veterans, Jim co-founded Elevation Point in 2024 to serve as a value-aligned, advisor-first minority investment growth partner. The firm equips breakaway teams and established RIAs with enterprise infrastructure, advanced technology, and differentiated institutional-quality investment opportunities through its proprietary Alt:62 private markets platform, empowering them to scale and thrive in an evolving marketplace.
Jim draws on more than four decades of experience in the wealth management industry to help entrepreneurial advisory teams achieve meaningful independence without surrendering culture, control of the business or the client relationships they’ve built and cultivated over the years. His track record of visionary leadership, ability to spot and scale great talent, and deep conviction in the future of independent advice make him one of the most transformative CEOs in wealth management today.
In its first year, Elevation Point completed eight strategic minority investments representing more than $8.2 billion in client assets, a feat rarely achieved in the RIA space. Under Jim’s leadership, the firm has assembled a leadership team drawn from wirehouses, RIAs, custodians, and fintech firms, while cultivating a culture of ownership, with nearly half of employees holding equity.
Jim previously founded and built nationally recognized wealth management firm Sanctuary Wealth, which he launched in 2018. He was the visionary behind Sanctuary Wealth’s Partnered IndependenceSM platform, providing elite advisors with all of the tools, services, and resources needed to fully and effectively serve their clients. Under Jim’s leadership, it grew rapidly into one of the industry’s top RIA firms, with more than $25 billion in assets and 76 partner firms in 28 states by 2023, when he departed.
Prior to Sanctuary Wealth, Jim spent 20 years as a senior divisional executive building and leading strategy for Merrill Lynch in Indianapolis and Chicago. He began his career as an accountant at Ernst & Young in Indianapolis.
Jim has been a leadership conference judge for FFA, a national non-profit organization preparing middle and high school students for careers in agricultural science, business, and technology. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Butler University, where he later served on the Board of Trustees for six years.
Based in Indianapolis, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and his first grandchild.

A transparent look at how we partner, how we’re structured, and how we help firms scale so you can make an informed decision about what comes next.
We partner with elite advisory firms as a minority investor and growth partner, bringing capital, infrastructure, and strategic support to help you scale without giving up control.
We’re not a roll-up, a services marketplace, or private equity in disguise. We take minority stakes, align economically, and help you build enterprise value all on your terms.
No. You retain control of your business, your brand, and your decisions. We invest alongside you, not over you.
We typically take a minority stake of 20–30%, structured to align incentives and support growth without taking control.
Growth-oriented breakaway and independent RIA firms with a clear vision, strong leadership, and the ambition to build an enduring enterprise.
Typically with firms at an inflection point that are established, successful, and ready to scale beyond what their current infrastructure supports.
We bring capital, executive depth, and institutional infrastructure so you can grow faster, operate more efficiently, and expand your reach without sacrificing quality.
A fully integrated ecosystem across investments, technology, operations, and strategic partners designed to support growth at scale.
We focus on building durable, transferable value—strengthening your operating model, expanding capabilities, and creating a business that can scale beyond any one individual.
Because owning more of a smaller business isn’t the goal, owning more of a more valuable one is. Think of it as pie theory: You’re not giving up value—you’re expanding it. Selling a minority stake allows you to bring in the capital, infrastructure, and strategic support to grow faster, operate more efficiently, and build a more durable enterprise. Your ownership percentage may be smaller, but the overall value of the business—the pie—is significantly larger. The result: you own less of something much bigger.
We don’t hand you a playbook and step back. We work alongside you, executing across strategy, operations, and growth to help the value you retain compound over time. From leadership development and market strategy to organic growth consulting, proprietary research and benchmarking, and strategic guidance shaped by family office expertise—we bring the capabilities required to build a more valuable, more durable business.
We are not hiring. We are recruiting. If you want a career that pushes limits and raises standards, step in.
Partner with Elevation Point to access the capital, network, and expertise that power top-performing firms.
