John Sabre is a seasoned authority in M&A and asset management innovation and business growth, having amassed over four decades of financial acumen and experience.
John currently serves as Executive Chairman at Elevation Point. His journey with the company began in 2024, after its acquisition of Mount Yale Capital Group (Mount Yale), where he had served as CEO and Managing Partner since 2003. Under his leadership, Mount Yale experienced exponential growth, expanding its assets under management from $350 million to $3.5 billion. During this period, Mount Yale continually grew and strengthened its suite of investment offerings, white-glove service, and comprehensive support and tools for advisor growth.
Before Mount Yale, John was a Senior Managing Director and Head of the Mezzanine Capital Group at Bear Stearns & Co. in New York. Prior to that, he was President and Managing Director of Dominion Capital, the merchant banking subsidiary of Dominion Energy. Earlier in his career, John was a Managing Director at Credit Agricole, where he was also Founding Partner of the firm’s merchant banking division. He also worked in the investment banking groups at Credit Suisse First Boston and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
John received his MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with a BS in finance.
